Antrim boat club is hosting the I.M.A NORTHERN Championship 2024…

On the 18th and 19th of May 2024 competitors will be competing on Lough Neagh for the Championship title. Following the success of the Irish Multihull Event in August 2023, ABC are delighted to host this event and have been working hard with support of volunteers to make sure it’s a great weekend for all.

 

what are the Multihulls all about…

The Irish Multihull Assiocation (IMA) is the governing body for catamaran sailing. These boats are catamaran style meaning they have 2 narrow hulls designed for crew of all ages sailing around Ireland. These boats are designed for ‘off the beach’ racing . The hulls hosts a main sail which in strong winds can be reefed quickly and a furling jib along with a bright and colourful spinnaker.

 

Competitors corner

  • Showers & changing facilities are provided in our clubhouse. No wet gear is permitted in the upstairs of the Clubhouse.

    Two campsites will be provided Friday - Sunday, 1 for camping & 1 for camper vans. No electric will be at either site.

  • ABC bar will be open Friday evening, Saturday afternoon / evening & Sunday afternoon / evening. All drinks must be purchased from the bar. ABC is not a BYO Premises.

  • Directions to Antrim Boat Club, 14A Castle Road, Antrim, BT41 4NA.

    From Belfast take the M2, get off at Junction 1, follow the signs for Antrim (A26), continue on the A26 until the fourth roundabout, take the 3rd exit (sign Randalstown A6). Continue on A6 for 1.5 miles and turn left into the new caravan site ‘Castlewood Holiday Park’, then turn immediate left & follow the lane which will lead to Antrim Boat Club. The clubhouse is at the very end of the lane.

    From Sprucefield take the M1 (Heading West), following the signs for International Airport, get off at Junction 9, take the 3 rd exit (sign Antrim A26), at Nutts Corner Roundabout take the 2nd exit(continuing Antrim A26), at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit and continue on A26, turn left at the T junction, take the 2nd exit at the roundabout (Belmont Rd), then take 2nd exit (A6 Dublin Rd), stay in left lane and take 1st exit (sign Randalstown A6).

    Continue on A6 for 1.5 miles and turn left into the new caravan site ‘Castlewood Holiday Park’, then turn immediate left & follow the lane which will lead to Antrim Boat Club. The clubhouse is at the very end of the lane.
